Brand new cars for $400, 000 and more, new mansions, and lots of female fans – now they have everything. No need to say, that Migos is a phenomenon in the world of modern hip-hop. Three young men from Georgia changed the shapes of rap culture.
They are all relatives – Quavo and Offset are cousins and Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew. Three boys grew up in the same house and Mama Huncho – Quavo’s mother – cared about them all.
The boys liked music from an early age but in different ways. Takeoff was absolutely keen on music, Quavo shared his time between music and football, while Offset couldn’t even rap at first – Quavo taught him.
But in 2008 they decided to form a hip-hop band and named it “Polo Club”. Later the name was changed to “Migos”. There are different versions, of what the title of the group means. Some fans of the band think that it is the short form of “amigos”, which means “Friends” in Spanish. The other version is that this word means “a house, where drugs are made”.
In any case, the band became incredibly popular all over the world. As for now, they boast a unique sound, four studio albums (two of which got platinum status), and lots of cash, which they carry in their cars, packed in huge leather bags, because they don’t trust banks.
The fourth studio album “Culture III” was the last one released during Takeoff’s lifetime in June 2021. In October 2022 Quavo and Takeoff announced the Migos separation. They presented the new duo “Unc & Phew”.
On November 1, 2022, the rapper Takeoff was shot in the bowling alley.
