Some fans know Jennifer Morrison as Zoey Pierson, one of Ted’s love interests from the hit series “How Met Your Mother”. The others adore her great character Emma Swan, the femme fatale and former bondsman from the show “Once Upon a Time”, which aired for 7 seasons on ABC. The truth is, Jen caught lots of public attention when she unleashed herself in public for the first time as Denice, one of the elves in “Miracle on 34th Street”. After that she never lost her presence, building her career stone by stone.

By the way, Jen is not just a famous actress, but also a great musician. The daughter of two music teachers, she played clarinet in the school band and even was titled as an All-State player.

David Morrison (father)

Jen’s father is a decorated music teacher and band director. He was the only music teacher to win the Teacher of the Year title in Illinois. David is retired as of now, but still, his heart belongs to music.

David is an Illinois native. He is the son of Donald and Janet-Rose Morrison, both late. David’s mother owned a dance school in Elmhurst, IL for 55 years before her retirement. Besides, she was an honorable member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters.

David has a brother Hugh and a sister Susan.

For many years, he had been married to his soulmate Judy.

Jennifer’s mother is a former music teacher and clarinet player. In one of her interviews Jen, who is a skillful clarinet player too, confessed that if she weren’t an actress, she would teach music, just like her mother.

Morrison’s younger sister is keeping up the family tradition, too. She became a musician, songwriter, and music therapist. Her songs have great success with the public. Some of them were used as movie soundtracks. Thus, her song “Not Alone” was used in the film “Sun Dogs”.

Julia Kay is the middle child in the Morrison family. Like her siblings, she grew up in an abundance of music-making. She is a trained piano and violin player. Like her sister Jen, Julia tried her hand at acting in her childhood years. She took part in commercials and theatrical plays.

After graduation from school, Julia entered New York University, where she studied music therapy. Nowadays, she joins her career with family life. Julia is happily married to Zach Summers, one year her older, and has a daughter Ellie with him. The girl looks exactly like her auntie Jennifer.

Jen was blessed with two younger siblings, who are as creative as she is. Three of them were raised in a very musical and art-oriented household. No wonder, her brother Daniel David Morrison chose music as a career. He became a music band director at a high school. He had to move from his native Chicago, Illinois to San Antonio, Texas to pursue his career. There Dan met the girl, named Ellie Leeper through Jen’s friend Claudia. Soon, the young people fell in love and got married. Ellie is a PR manager and occasional writer. She is also a mother to a boy, named Leo, whom she had with Dan.

Later Dan quit teaching music at Ronald Reagan High School and founded the media group Morrison Creative LLC. Now he is a producer and motivational speaker, who teaches others how to become successful in the film industry through his platform “Happy, Not Satisfied”.
