He was born in and raised in Miami, Florida. Blake has three older brothers. At the age of 9, he has already understood that performing arts are interesting for him. He portrayed his character – Ryder Lynn – so skillfully, and his fan base immediately increased. His career was evolving rapidly. He played in several episodes of the sitcom “Melissa & Joey”, at the set of which the other famous actors, like Melissa Joan Hart, were busy.

In 2016 he played the role of Jake in Richard Linklater’s comedy “Everybody Wants Some!!”, which is the sequel to the film “Dazed and Confused”, released in 1993. A year later Blake tried his hand in the new area of activity – film making. He wrote the script to the crime thriller “Billy Boy” and co-produced it as well.

In 2019-2020 the actor remains very marketable. He participates in the series “What/If”. Besides, he has announced his upcoming project – the musical “Merrily We Roll Along”.

He defines the film “American Animals” as the most unusual and prominent in his resume. He was impressed by its plot and composition, while he was reading the script, where “documentary parts were mixed with narration”, as Blake described in one of his interviews. The biopic crime drama, which tells about the students, who robbed the library, sounded so true to the actor, so he immediately accepted the offer to act in this film.
Blake has a secret technique, which helps him to get emotionally prepared for the new role. He opens a file on his computer and writes the lines from the perspective of his hero. He tries to imagine, what feeling his character has, what he thought about himself, while he was growing up, and what things he likes. “That a kind of an acting therapy”, Blake tells.
Ryan Gosling is his favorite actor. But he considers Jim Carrey as his inspiration.
He got Choice TV Breakout Star award for his perfect performance in “Glee”. In general, that project meant a lot for the actor’s career, but he told that he was afraid to become “a kind of a dance and music man” after that because Blake planned to become a serious dramatic actor.
