His father’s name is Mohammed Khaled. He was born in Ramallah, Palestine. Mohammed is the second youngest among six brothers in his family. He studied at Berout Arab University. In his home country, he met his beloved woman Afaf Kasem. They got married and went to Peru for their honeymoon. There Afaf got pregnant with her firstborn – DJ Khaled’s brother Alaa.

The name of DJ Khaled’s mother is Afaf. In the USA, she is called Fifi. She had to struggle a lot like Palestinian immigrants. Fifi hadn’t just helped her husband with his business but also opened her store of female clothes in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She comes from a big Palestinian family with many siblings, including her brother Emad Kasem, who passed away in 2001.

DJ Khaled has two siblings: an older brother and a younger sister. His older brother is a popular actor, known for his roles in such films and TV shows as “Can Hardly Wait”, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, “Hannah Montana”, and “Charmed” etc. as an actor, he is known under the stage moniker “Alec Ledd”.
He was born during his parents’ honeymoon in Peru. In his childhood, Alaa used to change schools in different states because of his parents’ constant moving on business. Born as Khaled Mohamed Khaled in a family of Palestinian-born immigrants, he changed lots of schools as a kid. He completed his education at Dr. Phillips High School. Inspired by his parents – fans of Arabian music – he started creating the rhythms himself. His musical taste was shaped while he was working after classes at the local music store “Merry-Go-Round”.
