Giannis’s father passed away at a relatively young age – 53 years old. The reason for his death is a sudden heart attack, which occurred during his ride to Milwaukee, WI. Ten days before his death, Charles attended a hospital in Greece. He complained of hard pains in his chest. Doctors advise the man to undergo careful laboratory testing. Probably, that didn’t help.
Charles was of Yoruba Nigerian origin. He spent his young years in Lagos, Nigeria. There he met his loved one Veronica and married her. In his home country, Charles was making a career as a soccer player. After their retirement, he moved to Athens, Greece with his wife. They left the oldest son Francis in his grandparents’ house.
Veronica and Charles were illegal emigrants from Greece. They worked too much to make the ends meet. The couple welcomed four more sons, including Giannis.

In his youth, he was drafted by the Greek basketball club “Filathlitikos”. Thanasis showed great results – he scored around 12-13 points per game.
In 2014 he moved from Greece to the USA and was drafted by the successful basketball team “New York Knicks”. In 2019 he joined his brother Giannis in The Milwaukee Bucks club.
Although basketball is Thanasis’s main passion, his circle of interest is quite wide. He is a big fashion lover and sometimes features as a model in CQ magazine. He tries his hand as a sports analyst and hosts the podcast “Thanalysis” on AntetokounBros Tv. He is also a big golf enthusiast.

If you’ve watched “Rise”, then you know that Kostas (portrayed by Jaden Osimuwa) is a professional basketball player, too. He started playing basketball as a high school student in Athens, Greece. After that, he moved to Wisconsin, USA, and continued playing for the team at Dominican High School there. He played for the college team at the University of Dayton as well.
In 2018 he started playing professionally at the part of Philadelphia 76ers. In 2019 he was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. The year later as the Lakers player he won the NBA championship, having become the first Greek athlete to do so. In 2021 his brothers Giannis and Thanasis repeated his success.

Alexandros Antetokounmpo is the youngest boy in the big athletic family. Born in Athens, Greece, he is now a US resident. Alex played basketball for Dominican High School, located in Wisconsin. After graduating from high school he decided not to go to college and started a professional basketball career instead. He played for European clubs, like UCAM Murcia in Spain and The Raptors 905 in Canada. In 2022 he moved back to Wisconsin and started playing for the Herd in the NBA league.
Alex was featured on the Thanalysis episode and confessed that music is his talent, too. He likes to play rap.
