Cara Buono is a versatile, multi-skilled actress. She has started her career at the tender age of 11, and during more than 3 decades in the movie industry, she tried her hand as a film and theater actress, director and screenwriter. Her most successful screen roles are in the series “Mad Men” and “Stranger Things”, where she portrayed Finn Wolfhard’s screen mother.
Cara comes from a big working-class family. She grew up with two brothers and a sister. Since her teens, she joined getting an education with participation in numerous theater productions. At the age of 19, she completed her education at Columbia University as an extramural student.
Mrs. Buono moved her way from the theater stage to television in the early 1990s. She gained wide popularity a little later, after participation in the hour-long drama film “Abby, My Love”, based on the book of Lee Hadley and Ann Irwin. That was a complex role for the young Cara, who had to portray the girl, molested by her father. But the actress managed to show all the aspects of her heroine’s feeling and her efforts paid off. She got her first screen award – Emmy – for the talented play in the film.
